Male
voice choirs are composed of four sections: two groups of tenors
(tops and seconds) and two groups of basses (sometimes called
first and second basses but, more usually, baritones and basses).
This is why our printed music is referred to as TTBB, as opposed
to the SATB (sopranos, altos, tenors and basses) of mixed choirs.
As you face the choir, our line-up is as shown below, with the
top tenors on the left. there is no fixed rule about this ~ and
other choirs may arrange their sections differently.
