2001 to the Present
Brief reviews of our activities for the years 2003 to 2007 are given in following pages. To see these, click on the 'Review' terms under Present in the left hand column.
The choir currently has 48 members and is supported by a very active Ladies Committee. We practise every Tuesday evening in the school room of the Methodist Church, Stithians. Anyone (male, of course - we are exempt from political correctness in this situation) - anyone interested in joining us can be assured of a warm welcome at these practices. Most of the period from January to March is spent learning new pieces and sharpening up selected older ones. The choir averages about 20 concerts and 2 or 3 social functions per year.
The most recent formal choir photograph (January 2007) is shown below. To see more of the Music Team (Musical Director and Accompanist), click on Music Team on the left. The structure of the choir and the individual choir members in their sections can be seen by clicking on The Singers.
Contact can be made with the choir using any of those listed under Contact us.
Sponsorship We are pleased to welcome in 2008 our major sponsor:
J. C. Williams and Son (House Furnishers) Ltd of Meneage Street, Helston
www.jcwilliams.co.uk
and we thank the Company for this support for the Choir and for choral music in Cornwall.
Choir in Stithians Methodist Chapel January 2007
The choir particpated in three competitions in 2003, winning in our class at the County Music Festival and the Camborne Music Festival. We also made a very creditable showing in Cornwall's First International Male Voice Choral Festival in May. Competition is hard work but it pays off in terms of technique and discipline. However we limited our involvement to just the County Festival in 2004 ~ and won the Holman Challenge Cup.
We undertook a two-concert tour in September 2004, being hosted by the Weybridge MVC (Surrey) and the Hart MVC (Hampshire) and sang in a massed choir concert at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon in June 2006. Our concert programme for 2008 is shown under Concerts 2008.

Our latest recording, Congratulations, was released on 26th May 2007. The title track (No.1) is a medley of successful British Eurovision song entries (in the days when real songs were featured). It was commissioned by the choir from Alan Simmons to celebrate our 60th Anniversary Year. Recordings made by our choir and those made with other choirs and singers are shown in the Recordings section. Please note that several of these are no longer available ~ but they are included 'for the record'.

International Male Choral Festival, Truro, 2005 and 2007:
The Choir won the trophy for the best Cornish Choir of 40 voices and under. We performing in the final Gala Concert at the Third Festival in the Hall for Cornwall in May 2007, being invited to sing the Festival's award-winning song Whenever There's a Life to Save by Tony Cliff of Falmouth.
